Activities to be conducted : As highlighted above, CVDS has been established with a number of objectives. To fulfill them and to bring a substantial amount of changes in the society, through achievement of its targets, the following activities have been identified, which shall be conducted in co-ordination and support of various interested NGOs & INGOs. Awareness campaigns regarding social acceptance of physically disabled and opportunities for socio-political victims to secure positions in the society. * Programs facilitating and encourage self employment. * Programs supporting educational and vocational knowledge facilitating life scholarships, non formal education and rehabilitation activities. * Shelter/ Vocational training on skills enhancing programs. * Psycho-Social counseling to victims of conflict and disables. * Miscellaneous activities related to environment, health and other public awareness campaigns. Past Activities: * Conducted a paper craft training program using CVDS’s own resources and fund, after its establishment in 2005; the training was provided to conflict victim and disables. * Conducted a three months ‘Basic Course in Paper Craft’ training programs for 30 people with support from GTZ.* Conducted a four months ‘Advance Course in Paper Craft ‘training people for 3o people with support from GTZ/PSP and HOPE ev. * Distribution of 21 wheelchairs to disabled with support from National Rehabilitation Society for the Disabled. Conducted a 18 days Basic paper craft training to conflict victims with support from Nepal Government, Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction. • Distribution of 15 wheel chairs to disabled people of eastern region in Biratnagar with support from National Rehabilitation Society for the Disabled. • Conducted one day seminar on behalf of person with disabilities on topic, "Importance of Handicraft training to person’s with disabilities for their Social and Personal changes." |
